How did you get into modelling?

Post  mrtomzappa on Tue Apr 16 2013, 17:05

Wow, a lot of stuff gotta be done, and I completely agree. Figures are very time consuming to paint, the reason I got into modelling was by painting tons of Warhammer 40k figures with my friend which eventually led to the Airfix because it is cheaper and in my opinion more enjoyable Very Happy

I also got into modelling through Warhammer, airfix is much more enjoyable though, and cheaper Twisted Evil

I got my first model in a Christmas stocking when I was about 6. I sort of picked up with modelling (mostly aircraft, usually 1/72) when I was 8 or 9. I stopped for a while but picked up in a big way in 2011. Now I model 1/48 planes and I have two sneaky 1/35 Panzers to build too.
I've never built Warhammer as I am not good at painting figures, but I've heard Games Workshop is the best place to go for tutorials.
