The German Army's Main Battle Tank during the 80's, developed from the Leopard 1A1A1. The Leopard 1A5 was made by Kraus Maffei. It had a 105mm main gun with a 7.62mm co-axial machine gun.

More information can be found here [Only admins are allowed to see this link]

Here, the picture was taken from the gantry, the turret and gun are rotated almost 180 degrees to the rear. This was done purely to fit the tank into the museum, where space is at a premium.

A bit dark, but some good detail of the gun mantlet and the fabric at the gun joint.

Close up of the turret armour. It is bolt-on Lexan plates and is mounted about 5cm (2") away from the turret. It provides extra protection by 'prematurely' detonating anti-tank rounds which then have a much reduced effect on the main armour.

Close up of the exhaust grill at the left rear of the Leopard, there is another exhaust grill at the right rear too. You can also see the Lexan side skirts.

Lexan side skirts (German armour (apart from the Challenger II) are the only armour to have 'wavy' side skirts) and above this the tow cable and you can also see where the tools would be secured to the sides.
